CM Revanth Reddy clarifies Modi’s misconceptions about Congress Govt. in Telangana

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was deliberately distorting the facts about the Congress government’s tenure in the state, particularly the farm loan waiver scheme.Addressing a public meeting here in the run-up to the Munugode Assembly by-election, he said Modi had been talking about the ‘KCR regime’ in Telangana and spreading misinformation about the Congress government’s tenure in the state.

Revanth Reddy said, “Modi claims the Congress government failed to fulfill the promise of loan waiver. But, the truth is that the Congress government had cleared loans up to Rs 2 lakh per borrower during its time in power. The records are open to everyone, including the BJP. They cannot hide behind lies.”

He also accused Modi of making baseless allegations that the Congress government did not support the Telangana movement. “Congress is the only party that strongly supported the movement and worked towards achieving separate statehood. They must prove their claim or be ready to face consequences,” Revanth Reddy said.

Further, Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, calling him a “fraud” and accusing him of making false promises about free power and pensions during the elections.

“He is fooling people with his sweet talks about ‘Kisan Samman Nidhi’ and free power,” said Revanth Reddy. “Farmers know the reality of this government. Modi did not deliver on his promise to double farmer’s income, and his policies are failing miserably.”

On the by-election, Revanth Reddy called on the people of Munugode to vote for Congress candidate Palvai Sravanthi Reddy and defeat the BJP candidate. He said Congress has been the strongest opponent of BJP in Telangana, and it will continue to fight for the people’s interests.

He also emphasized that the Munugode by-election was not just a fight between two candidates but a fight for the future of Telangana. “It’s a battle against Modi’s divisive politics and BJP’s corruption,” he said.

The by-election is scheduled to be held on November 3, and the counting of votes will be done on November 6. The seat was vacated by Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, who recently resigned from the Congress party and joined the BJP. The election has garnered a lot of attention as it is being seen as a crucial test for the ruling BRS and the opposition BJP ahead of the 2023 state assembly elections.
