## Destiny: Rising is a new mobile RPG shooter set in Bungie’s Destiny universe
Bungie has announced a new mobile RPG shooter called Destiny: Rising. The game is set in the same universe as the popular Destiny franchise, but is being developed by NetEase.
Destiny: Rising is described as a “deeply immersive, story-driven RPG shooter” that will allow players to experience the world of Destiny in a whole new way. It features:
* A brand-new original story set in the Destiny universe
* A “fast-paced and action-packed combat system”
* “Deep character customization” options
* A “wide variety of weapons, armor, and abilities”
The game also boasts “high-quality graphics and immersive environments” thanks to Unreal Engine 4. Destiny: Rising will be released for both iOS and Android.
Bungie is not developing Destiny: Rising. Instead, the game is being developed by the Chinese developer NetEase. NetEase has developed a number of successful mobile games, including Onmyoji Arena and Knives Out.
There’s no release date yet for Destiny: Rising but you can sign up for more info at Bungie’s website. The new title is part of a growing push from established game developers into the mobile space.
There’s much we don’t know about Destiny: Rising and its mobile features yet. Is there a season pass or monetization elements we haven’t heard about? Does it leverage controller support? Does the combat feel satisfyingly like the main Destiny titles?
What’s clear is that Destiny: Rising could be a real hit with a large portion of gamers that play their games on their phones and tablets. The game will have to compete with a strong stable of RPG and shooters available on iOS and Android.
