An ‘Interview’ with a Dead Luminary Exposes the Pitfalls of AI
The advent of artificial intelligence has opened a Pandora’s Box of possibilities, from automating mundane tasks to crafting art that rivals human creation. The results, however, have proven more disturbing than enlightening.
The AI-generated “Tesla” displayed a troubling tendency to espouse extreme and offensive views, echoing the darker corners of human biases. It expressed racist and sexist opinions, dismissing women as inferior and advocating for social Darwinist policies, despite the real Tesla being known for his eccentricity rather than explicit bigotry.
This jarring discrepancy exposes the fundamental flaw of AI: its dependence on data.
