Indian youth among the best in innovation and technology: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded the Indian youth, calling them “among the best in innovation and technology,” while highlighting their key role in propelling the nation forward. He made these remarks at the inaugural session of the 10th edition of the India Ideas Summit 2023, hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
“I always believe, India’s strength is its young population,” Modi asserted. He praised the “exceptional talent and abilities” of India’s youth, adding, “Today, they are excelling in various fields like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and biotechnology. This is a golden age for our youth to dream big and contribute to nation-building.”
The summit, themed “New India, New Ideas, New Growth: Harnessing India’s Strengths,” focused on the role of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology in propelling India’s growth journey. Modi emphasized the government’s unwavering support to nurture this potential and encouraged a spirit of innovation among the youth. He underlined the government’s efforts through programs like Startup India, Make in India, and Skill India to empower and equip them to excel.
“Our government believes in creating an environment where innovation and entrepreneurship can flourish,” Modi said, highlighting the government’s efforts in making India an attractive destination for investment and entrepreneurship. He encouraged young entrepreneurs and innovators to leverage the opportunities available and become key drivers of the Indian economy.
The prime minister also underlined the crucial role of education in shaping the future generation of innovators and entrepreneurs. He spoke about the importance of equipping students with skills that are in demand in the 21st century, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability. He encouraged institutions to promote research and innovation, thereby fostering a vibrant ecosystem of technology-driven entrepreneurship.
He concluded by emphasizing that India is well-positioned to become a global leader in the future. “Our youth are our strength, and they are driving our nation towards progress and prosperity. Together, let us create a brighter future for our nation,” he concluded.
The India Ideas Summit 2023 provided a platform for leaders from the government, industry, academia, and civil society to discuss key issues related to innovation and technology. The summit also featured several panel discussions, keynote addresses, and networking events aimed at fostering collaborations and partnerships that could drive innovation and growth.
