GREEN BAY, Wis. – Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is dealing with a groin strain but is expected to start Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Love suffered the injury during the Packers’ 24-3 victory over the Chicago Bears last Sunday. He played through the pain, finishing the game with 270 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Head coach Matt LaFleur said on Wednesday that Love is “day to day” but is expected to play against the Lions.

“He’s feeling better,” LaFleur said. “We’ll just continue to monitor him and see where he’s at.”

Love has been impressive in his first season as the Packers’ starting quarterback, throwing for 2,087 yards and 11 touchdowns in six starts. He’s also added 185 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.

The Packers (3-2) will need Love at his best to take down the Lions (2-3) on Sunday. Detroit is coming off a 22-16 upset victory over the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday, snapping a three-game losing streak.

The Lions are led by quarterback Jared Goff, who has thrown for 1,376 yards and eight touchdowns this season. Running back D’Andre Swift is a threat out of the backfield, having rushed for 263 yards and two touchdowns in five games.

The Packers are a seven-point favorite to defeat the Lions, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Love’s groin strain isn’t the only injury the Packers are dealing with.

Wide receiver Christian Watson, who missed the Chicago game with a hamstring injury, is still questionable to play against the Lions.

Tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle) and linebacker Quay Walker (shoulder) are also listed as questionable.

Despite the injuries, the Packers are optimistic about their chances to beat the Lions.

“We’re going to do whatever it takes to win this game,” LaFleur said. “We have a lot of confidence in our team.”

The Packers’ defense will be key to slowing down the Lions’ offense. They will need to find ways to pressure Goff and force turnovers.

If the Packers can take care of the ball on offense and play well defensively, they should be able to win their fourth game of the season.
