Samsung may introduce a copycat ‘Slim’ Galaxy Smartphone in 2025 to Counter Apple’s iPhone 17 Slim model – Patently Apple
Samsung and Apple are the two biggest smartphone companies in the world. They’re both constantly innovating and releasing new devices, and they’re always looking for ways to one-up each other. One of the latest innovations from Apple is the iPhone 17 Slim model, which is a super-thin and lightweight phone that’s designed to be the ultimate mobile device for those who value portability. This is quite similar to the iPhone 12 model released in 2020, which was also marketed for being ultra thin. Of course, the market doesn’t seem to have embraced this “slimness”, preferring the practicality of being able to include more functionality, including larger batteries in phones.
A recent report has indicated that Samsung may introduce a “Slim” version of its Galaxy smartphone. This rumor suggests that Samsung is developing a “Slim” Galaxy phone, which may become available in the year 2025, seemingly aiming to be a direct competitor to the anticipated iPhone 17 Slim.
Patently Apple was able to gather some insights that give an idea of the Samsung Slim device:
“There is no other way to slice it: Samsung is going all-in on mobile, pushing for innovation with the latest in foldables. The only way to succeed is to dominate each market, and with a thin, elegant design, the world could be at Samsung’s feet.”
If this rumor is true, this means that we may have to face even greater confusion for all phone lovers when buying a phone as consumers try to choose between thin phones from Apple and thin phones from Samsung.
Samsung has always been known for its high-quality devices, and its upcoming “Slim” Galaxy smartphone could be a big hit. Of course, given its typical approach in product launches, Samsung could already be producing Slim Galaxy phones today. However, its release timing could take place sometime next year. What makes this idea credible is that the current Galaxy devices have incorporated the highest possible thinness, thanks to features like an in-display camera or a larger screen while remaining very light and handy, thanks to the use of aluminum.
So far there is no official confirmation on whether or not Samsung will indeed release a “Slim” phone in 2025. However, we are sure that Apple’s success in building ultra-thin devices will spur all of the companies competing with them to pursue similar designs for their flagship phones. Given this context, the news around Samsung introducing its “Slim” smartphone is definitely believable.
Ultimately, time will tell what exactly happens with Samsung and its new potential phone and how that phone will perform.
