AI Was Actually Useful for Organizing My Flight Info
I’m not the biggest fan of artificial intelligence. I know, I know, everyone seems to be obsessed with it these days, but I’ve always felt a little skeptical. I just don’t trust AI to do things right, especially when it comes to something as important as my travel plans. However, a recent flight experience changed my perspective. My flight was anything but straightforward, involving multiple airlines and layovers, and it seemed like I was drowning in a sea of confirmation emails, gate changes, and baggage claim updates.
It was at this point that I decided to turn to AI for help. I knew it was a long shot, but I was desperate for some kind of order. I started by plugging all my flight details into Google Assistant. To my surprise, it not only consolidated all my flight information into a single, easily accessible format but also intelligently predicted potential problems. It warned me about potential delays based on real-time flight data and even suggested alternative routes in case of cancellations. It even let me know how long my layover was, and whether or not I’d have enough time to grab a bite to eat.
Throughout the entire journey, AI acted as my personal travel assistant. It sent me timely notifications about gate changes, reminded me to check in online, and provided real-time updates on my baggage status. This level of personalized support, especially considering the complexities of my itinerary, truly impressed me. The most remarkable aspect of it all was how seamlessly it integrated into my existing routines. It didn’t force me to download a new app or navigate a complicated interface; it simply used the tools and platforms I already relied on, making it feel like an extension of my own travel management capabilities.
My skepticism regarding AI started to fade as I witnessed its practical application in simplifying my travel experience. I finally understood the value of AI when it provided tangible benefits that eased my anxieties and ensured a smoother journey. It was a stark contrast to the countless instances where I had found AI applications to be gimmicky, unhelpful, or downright frustrating. The experience demonstrated that AI can indeed be a useful tool when it’s thoughtfully implemented to solve real-world problems.
Of course, I’m still not ready to proclaim myself an AI enthusiast. I acknowledge its potential, and I’m sure there will be plenty of situations where it still falls short of expectations. However, I am more open-minded now about its possibilities. My experience demonstrated that when done right, AI can provide invaluable assistance in situations where it matters most.
